Dear WCCS Families,
It is with great joy that I write this letter to you as the incoming Upper School Principal of Westminster Catawba Christian School. It is truly an honor to become a part of the WCCS family and community. While I have only had limited interactions with the faculty and parents thus far, I can already tell that it is a unique and special Christ-centered community that I am incredibly excited to join.
I come to you with 24 years of experience as an educator; having spent time in diverse schools in both the public and private setting. I’ve been blessed with opportunities to teach, coach, and lead in multiple settings from middle school special education, to urban title I, to AP classes. My family and I are moving from Jupiter, Florida where I served as Upper School Principal for both the middle and high school levels.
I believe that every student deserves an incredible education and that only happens when the school and the families work together for the best interests of our children.
I have already enjoyed getting to know faculty and staff and working with school leadership to ensure a smooth transition. I am excited to get to know our students and parents and the unique needs of the WCCS community. I believe that every student deserves an incredible education and that only happens when the school and the families work together for the best interests of our children. A large focus of mine will be to support our teachers and make sure they have what they need to support their students and provide a challenging, engaging, and fun environment to learn. I have seen firsthand how important a relevant curriculum is and watched it come to life. This is done with carefully prepared lesson plans that make the material relate to our students’ lives and with powerful deep questions that force students to wrestle with the information. This provides opportunities for students to think, analyze and deconstruct information in order to find the truth. This is an imperative need for every student and I am excited to see this at WCCS.
My family and I have been praying for a year for a clear direction and we are grateful the Lord has led us to WCCS. I am truly honored to be given this opportunity, and I look forward to meeting the WCCS community. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to share.
Serving with you,
Joe Zambrano
