Upper School Trip Week

WCCS has a long standing tradition that each year around the end of February/early March, our high school students get out of the classroom for a “Trip Week” adventure. Each grade level trip is intended to augment our WCCS academic, spiritual, community, and service goals. Students look forward to these trips each year as some of the most memorable of their time in highschool, some even describing trips as life-changing.

Although trips may vary from year to year, trips over the years may include:

  • 8th grade – As an introduction to Trip week, 8th graders enjoy their first overnight trip to Charleston to bring to life their South Carolina History curriculum. (2 days, 1 night)
  • Freshmen – Freshman head to the local mountains to reflect on Identity in Christ, community, and leadership to set the stage for the four years of high school (2-3 days)
  • Sophomores – Led by our College & Career Counselor, Sophomores will visit 7-8 colleges (public, private, and faith based) as a jump start to their upcoming college/future search. (4 days)
  • Juniors – Led by our History Department, our Juniors will visit Washington DC to dive deeper into the places and issues they are studying in their US History curriculum. (5 days)
  • Seniors – As a culminating high school experience, seniors go on an epic international or national adventure which includes service, adventure, culture, and praying for a successful transition to their next step. (6-9 days)
