Boys and Girls Cross Country is a fall sport at Westminster Catawba Christian School, featuring high school and middle school students. While boys and girls train together, cross-country meets typically feature separate races for the boys and girls, as well as middle schoolers and high schoolers.
We are members of the competitive Metrolina Athletic Conference (MAC), a conference comprised of Charlotte-area schools. At the state level, we are members of the North Carolina Independent School Athletic Association (NCISAA).
The Fall 2022 season for the WCCS Cross-Country team has concluded. Great job to all our athletes! The Fall 2023 schedule will be posted as soon as it’s available. Click here to view an archived PDF of the Fall 2022 schedule.
Head Coach Ian McKeown
Since 2019, the Cross-Country team at WCCS has been lead by Head Coach Ian McKeown. Coach McKeown is a Rock Hill native who attended and played varsity soccer at South Pointe High School. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, and did his post-graduate work at Winthrop University.
From Head Coach Ian McKeown:
The reason I enjoy being a coach at Westminster Catawba Christian School is that I am able to train our kids beyond cross country and how to be better athletes. I am able to use the sport of Cross Country to train and lead and disciple them to grow in their faith and walk with Jesus, which ultimately helps to train them to be better people who will impact the world for Christ when they graduate. We get to go deeper with each other and it makes the coaching experience a lot more fun.
