The theatre programs at Westminster Catawba Christian School are an outstanding way for students to explore and develop their talents for acting acting and stage performance. We have theatre opportunities for both middle and high school students, which culminate into two main theatre productions each year.
The High School Theatre program presents two major productions each year. Our first production is a play and the second is a musical. For both productions, students are auditioned and may choose to participate in cast, technical crew and design crew.
While our Fall Play traditionally features the High School Theatre class, our Spring Musical welcomes all WCCS High School students to participate in some capacity. Many students who are part of the program experience multiple parts of the production process through the years.
The spirit of camaraderie within the WCCS Theatre program brings students back year after year. Performances present redeemable themes while highlighting the talent of our students.
The Middle School Theatre program is designed to introduce our students to the world of theatre. We cover topics including acting, characterization, stage design, technical elements and theatre history. Each year we also produce a one act play with our Middle School Theatre students based on a historic author in literature. Our Middle School Theatre students also have the opportunity to partake in the High School Spring Musical as secondary cast members, ensemble, run crew, house crew and/or technical apprentices.
