Visual Arts

At Westminster Catawba Christian School, we teach each child that he or she is uniquely made by a very creative and loving God.  Our visual arts programs build and encourage each student’s creativity in a way that honors Him.

Elementary School Visual Arts

Our standards-based art program at WCCS has an emphasis on art history with Biblical integration. It is very hands-on and the students spend most of their class time creating. In Elementary School art, we focus on developing innovation, problem solving, decision making, perseverance, focus, confidence, and collaboration, which are important life skills. We host an art show in the Spring to showcase the projects of the students.

Middle School Visual Arts

Students in grades 6 – 8 may take art as an elective. Middle School art gives students the opportunity to begin exploring their creative talents. The Middle School art curriculum is centered around the elements of art, principles of design, and the art history movements. We host an art show in the Spring to showcase the projects of the students.

High School Visual Arts

High School art, an elective for grades 9-12, helps students develop and fine tune their creative abilities. The High School art curriculum dives deeper into art history, contemporary artists/styles, and the exploration of art principles, mediums, and techniques. We host an art show in the Spring to showcase the projects of the students.
