“We feel like WCCS has partnered with us to encourage the kids to consider their calling from God early in life and to develop the individual gifts and passions that would lead to their ultimate purpose, loving God and loving others.”
John and Amy Haley first enrolled their kids at WCCS in 2007. Their son John is a 2015 graduate, Jake is a 2017 graduate, and Joel graduated with the Class of 2019 this past May. John recently married a WCCS alumna, Holly (Nash) Haley, and the two just welcomed a sweet baby girl to the family this past summer. He is working as an appraiser and involved in agricultural/land management pursuits. Jake will soon graduate from Liberty University with a Project Management degree and currently works part-time with Ecclesia Construction of Rock Hill and does land management. Joel is a full time student at Winthrop University studying Chemistry and Biology with the goal to be in medical missions. The Haley’s also have a niece that is currently attending WCCS as a senior. Read on to find out why WCCS is so special to their family.
The thing that we love most about WCCS is that it is a Christ-centered education.
Community – Our kids made lasting friends through WCCS and a lot of our network and community, even since graduation, has come through our connections at the school. (Perhaps most significant is the addition to our family of a sweet daughter-in-law who is a WCCS alumna.) Through attending Bible studies, serving in our local community, and participating in so many areas of school life, they felt connected to a broad spectrum of people.
Mr Cooke – all of our kids enjoyed Mr Cooke as a teacher. He is approachable and invites dialogue no matter the topic in a way that feels safe. He encouraged the kids to not be afraid to ask tough questions and created an enthusiasm for searching the Scriptures. He also befriended them in their various areas of interest (he’s a guy with background in many things – travel, wrestling, boxing, art, theology, science, and even ballet!).
We feel like WCCS has partnered with us to encourage the kids to consider their calling from God early in life and to develop the individual gifts and passions that would lead to their ultimate purpose, loving God and loving others. They have different interests and are taking different career paths, but they all share this internal value that God put them on earth by His design and created them for a purpose beyond the pursuit of selfish ambitions.
The strong spiritual emphasis combined with a supportive and safe environment to explore and grow provides a great return on investment!
