The Hoffman Family

“Because of WCCS, our daughters are building their foundation for learning about God, God’s love for us and for all of humanity. They are learning and quoting scripture. They are learning to pray and how to serve others.”

The HoffmansWCCS Family

The Hoffman family has two daughters at WCCS, Maddie (kindergarten) and Olivia (4K). Read on to learn more about their love for the teachers, staff, and environment at WCCS!

Why did you choose WCCS for your child?

Originally, we were looking to change preschools. We were searching for a place where our children would be loved and cared for. A neighborhood friend recommended we check out WCCS. Upon visiting the school, speaking with faculty and staff, we quickly realized that WCCS was exactly the type of environment we wanted for our children.

What do you love most about WCCS?

We love that WCCS is a Christ-centered environment! The teachers, faculty and staff strive to live and serve as an example of Christ’s love. Our children are showing such academic and spiritual growth. I (Kim) am an elementary school teacher in a local district, and I am more than impressed with the academic curriculum at WCCS.

What is one word that describes our school? Tell us why you chose that word.

“Love” – It is incredibly difficult to describe in words how much love, affection and attention our children receive at WCCS. Our children have attended other pre-schools and elementary schools. However, there is no comparison to the feelings of warmth and comfort provided from all levels of the staff. They genuinely have our childrens’ best interest at heart and are such a positive influence on their day-to-day emotional, academic and spiritual growth.

Describe one of your favorite teachers and the impact that this person has had in your student’s life – or perhaps a specific example of a way this teacher has cared for your student in a special way.

This is a very difficult question for us to answer, truly. Since day one we’ve been more than thrilled with each teacher our girls have had. Our daughters’ 3K and 4K teachers were/are loving, kind and genuine. This year, our oldest started Kindergarten at another school. The first few weeks of kindergarten at our particular public school had her feeling anxious and sad. When dropping her off each morning, she sobbed and would claim, “Today I won’t cry.” As a parent, this can be heartbreaking, when we knew how much she previously loved her school, teachers and classmates at WCCS. After three weeks, we realized we (her parents) had made a big mistake and we were fortunate enough to be able to bring her back to WCCS. Within the first couple minutes of meeting her kindergarten teacher at WCCS, she turned to me and said, “Daddy, I’m going to be okay. I like it here. You can go now.” Since her return to WCCS, she has been happy, engaged and excited to attend school. Her teacher from her very first minute has been warm, caring, kind, positive and spiritual with our daughter and the whole class. Her teacher has helped our daughter fall back in love with learning and going to school again.

How is WCCS preparing your child for God’s call on their lives, including hopes, plans, and dreams for college, career, and/or community?

Because of WCCS, our daughters are building their foundation for learning about God, God’s love for us and for all of humanity. They are learning and quoting scripture. They are learning to pray and how to serve others. A significant portion of their week (Mon – Fri) is spent at school where they are immersed in learning biblical lessons about loving God with all their mind, heart, soul and strength…but also learning to love their neighbor (friends and community) as themselves. The faculty at WCCS are a wonderful example of modeling this type of behavior. They have exposure to older elementary school children at WCCS who are also modeling how to pray, serve and care for one another. We can’t think of a better environment for our children in which to grow.

What would you tell another parent to encourage them to consider enrolling their child at WCCS?

Whether speaking about preschool or elementary school, we have tried multiple other institutions. WCCS is the only school where we have felt that our daughters are in a loving, safe, curriculum rich and God-centered environment. Our children aren’t just a number or just a student, as they have been elsewhere. They are genuinely cared for, educated, encouraged, loved and guided to become a disciple and image of Christ.
