The RutlandsWCCS Family

The Rutland family has been at WCCS for 4 years now! Julian is in the 7th grade and John is in the 9th grade. Read on to learn more about their time at WCCS!

Why did you choose WCCS for your child?

Our boys attended a wonderful public school in town from kindergarten through fifth grade. As our oldest entered his last year of elementary school, we felt a strong call from God to visit WCCS. After our first meeting and tour, we knew we had found the perfect place for our children. From the moment we entered the school, we felt like we were part of the WCCS family. We chose WCCS for the fact that children are taught the truth in every subject, just as God expects.

What do you love most about WCCS?

We love that WCCS seeks to educate children so that they may grow and mature into caring Christians who will have a transforming, positive influence on the world.

What is one word that describes our school? Tell us why you chose that word.

Dedicated – Every teacher, staff member, coach and student at WCCS is dedicated to being the best they can be every single day. They are dedicated to serving the Lord with all their heart, mind and soul.

Describe one of your favorite teachers and the impact that this person has had in your student’s life – or perhaps a specific example of a way this teacher has cared for your student in a special way.

Honestly, there isn’t just one teacher! Our boys have had so many wonderful teachers at WCCS. What we love most is how every teacher cares for our boys as if they were their own children. The teachers at WCCS truly love their students and are passionate about teaching them the truth. They encourage them, pray for them and with them, build them up and prepare them to be godly young men.

How is WCCS preparing your child for God’s call on their lives, including hopes, plans, and dreams for college, career, and/or community?

We feel that WCCS has served as an extension of what we are seeking to accomplish in the lives of our boys. Not only do our boys see God being honored at home, but also in their school. Our boys know that God has created them as a unique masterpiece with different gifts and talents and WCCS is helping them follow God’s calling through a Christ centered education.

What would you tell another parent to encourage them to consider enrolling their child at WCCS?

We would encourage them to visit the school as a family, allow their child to shadow a current WCCS student, attend a school wide event and talk to other WCCS families to learn more about the wonderful things going on at WCCS. Best decision we ever made!
